K1

Allard K1 (1949)

Production period: 1946-1950
Engines: Otto engine :
3.6 liters (70 kW)
Length: 4267 mm
Width: 1803 mm
Height:
Wheelbase : 2692 mm
Empty weight : 1194 kg

The K1 was similar to the contemporary J1 racing car model , with which it also shared the drive train and chassis. However, the car had a 152 mm larger wheelbase and a slightly higher compression engine with slightly higher power. In contrast to the J1, the K1 also had front bumpers and a different roof structure.

The side-controlled V8 engine initially came from the Ford V8 model 01A / 02A , later from the Ford Pilot , as did the three-speed gearbox. The engine had a displacement of 3622 cm³ (bore × stroke = 77.79 mm × 96.25 mm), was 7: 1 compressed and made 95 bhp (70 kW) at 3800 rpm with a Ford carburetor. The maximum speed of the car is given as 149 km / h.

The front wheels were individually suspended and had a transverse leaf spring. The driven rear wheels were attached to a rigid axle, which was also suspended from a transverse leaf spring. The wheelbase was 2692 mm, the front / rear track 1422 mm. The frame was made of steel tubes, the body of aluminum.

K2

Production period: 1950-1953
Engines: Otto engine :
3.9 liters (74 kW)
Length: 4267 mm
Width: 1803 mm
Height:
Wheelbase : 2692 mm
Empty weight : 1194 kg

The K2 was similar to the contemporary J2 racing car model , with which it also shared the drive train and chassis. However, the car again had a wheelbase that was 152 mm larger and an engine with a different carburetor and lower power. In contrast to the J2, the K2 also had fenders fixed to the frame, front bumpers and a different roof construction. The changes compared to the predecessor K1 were limited to the engine and the modified bonnet with an A-shaped grille.

The side-controlled V8 engine and the three-speed gearbox again came from the Ford shelf. The engine had a displacement of 3917 cm³ (bore × stroke = 81 mm × 96.26 mm), was compressed 7.5: 1 and made 100 bhp (74 kW) at 3800 rpm with its Ford carburetor. (The J2 with otherwise the same engine had 2 Solex carburettors and made 140 bhp.) The top speed rose to 163 km / h, so it was a real "hundred mile car".

The front wheels were individually suspended and had coil springs. There were no changes to the rear axle. The wheelbase and track width also remained unchanged.

Production period: 1952-1956
Engines: Otto engine :
3.6 liters (70 kW)
Length: 4496 mm
Width: 1689 mm
Height:
Wheelbase : 2692 mm
Empty weight : 1219 kg

The K3 was visually similar to the contemporary Palm Beach model . The new pontoon body was longer and narrower than the bodies of the predecessor. Technically, the new model was a mixture of its two predecessors.

The size and performance of the engine corresponded to that of the K1. The front axle construction was the same as that of the K2. The rear De Dion axle was new . The wheelbase remained the same, but the track width increased by 64 mm to 1486 mm.
