The Allard P2 Monte Carlo Saloon is a two-door, four-seat sports sedan produced by the British Allard Motor Company Ltd. built from 1952 to 1956 as the successor to the P1 model .

technology

The P2 had the same powertrain as its predecessor. The side-controlled V8 engine came from the Ford Pilot , as did the three-speed gearbox. The engine had a displacement of 3622 cc (bore × stroke = 77.79 mm × 96.25 mm), had a compression ratio of 6.1: 1 and made 85 bhp (62.5 kW) at 3500 rpm. If desired, other engines could also be installed, e.g. B. V8 engines from Cadillac , Lincoln or Chrysler . A Hydramatic automatic transmission was also available on request.

The front wheels were individually suspended and had coil springs. The driven rear wheels were attached to a De-Dion axle , unlike its predecessor with a rigid rear axle and transverse leaf spring. As with the predecessor, the wheelbase was 2845 mm, the front / rear track had grown by 13 mm to 1486 mm. The frame was made of steel tubes, the body of aluminum.

Single vehicles

Only 11 copies of the P2 were made in four years. No. 1 was sold to Malaysia , No. 2 to the USA . No. 3 stayed in the home country, No. 4 went to Sweden . No. 5 was delivered to Belgium , No. 6 to London . No. 7 went to Belfast , while No. 8 was exported to New Guinea . No. 9 stayed in London and No. 10 was shipped to Canada . No. 11 also stayed in London and was used privately by Sydney Allard .

Today (as of 2011) a total of eight copies are still preserved.
