The Allessa GmbH and the AllessaProduktion GmbH (until 30 September 2012 AllessaChemie) are chemical company based in Frankfurt am Main - Fechenheim . Further locations are in Frankfurt-Griesheim and Frankfurt-Höchst .

Companies

Allessa GmbH is a contract manufacturer specializing in process development and production of organic intermediates and specialty chemicals for industrial customers. The capacity of their systems ranges from a few hundred kilograms to several hundred tons per year, depending on the product. The range of technologies and systems enables the company to develop complex, multi-stage syntheses, some of which are produced for just one customer.

In addition, the company offers additional services such as drying, grinding and mixing of products or analysis for research, development and quality assurance as well as on- site services in Fechenheim.

The most important customers include the agro- and pharmaceutical industry as well as pigment, dye and auxiliary manufacturers, as well as manufacturers of detergents and cosmetics as well as companies that are active in oil production.

history

The company was founded in 2001 (still under the name AllessaChemie GmbH) when Clariant sold its Cassella-Offenbach plant with its two locations in Fechenheim and Offenbach, as well as three systems in the Griesheim plant, to a group of former Hoechst managers who continued to run the company under their own responsibility . The name AllessaChemie contains an ananym from Cassella.

Harbor at the Fechenheim plant

The Fechenheim location goes back to 1870 from the Frankfurt paint wholesaler Leopold Cassella & Comp. aniline factory founded at the Mainkur back. By 1900 the company had developed into the largest azo paint factory in the world. The later Cassella AG had its corporate headquarters here. Today the headquarters of Allessa GmbH are located here. The site is also operated as an industrial park. Allessa GmbH operates a production facility in the Griesheim industrial park , where Ludwig Baist founded a chemical factory in 1856. The traditional location has been operated by Infrasite Griesheim , a subsidiary of Infraserv Höchst , since 2009 . The last production facility in the former Offenbach plant was shut down in 2010.

In 2012, the Cassella brand name was re-registered and operates independently from Allessa. Since December 1st, 2012, Allessa GmbH has a third location in Frankfurt-Höchst due to the merger with AllessaSyntec GmbH. This has been operating under the name WeylChem InnoTec since 2017.

On September 25, 2013, the International Chemical Investors Group (ICIG) reached an agreement with Cassella GmbH, according to which ICIG will acquire all shares in Allessa GmbH. Subsequently, the production activities were bundled in the newly founded AllessaProduktion GmbH. Within the ICIG, Allessa is assigned to the WeylChem Group.

In August 2019, catalytic reduction operations in the Frankfurt-Griesheim industrial park were finally closed.
