description

Vegetative characteristics

Aloe bullockii grows without a trunk, simply and geophytically . Their base is enlarged and forms an onion 3 to 4 centimeters in diameter. The thick roots are spindle-shaped. The eight to ten linear-lanceolate leaves form rosettes . The lined leaf blade is 10 to 20 inches long and 2 to 3 inches wide. The soft, light pink teeth on the narrow, cartilaginous leaf margin are 0.5 to 1 millimeter long and 0.5 to 1 millimeter apart.

Inflorescences and flowers

The inflorescence is simple or consists of a branch and reaches a length of 35 to 50 centimeters. The semi-dense, cylindrical grapes are 7 to 10 inches long and 5 inches wide. The ovoid-pointed, knocked back bracts have a length of 8 to 10 millimeters and are 5 to 6 millimeters wide. The light scarlet to coral red flowers are on 4 to 5 millimeter long peduncles . The flowers are up to 30 millimeters long and truncated at their base. At the level of the ovary , the flowers have a diameter of 6 millimeters. Above that, they are narrowed to 4 millimeters, then widened and finally narrowed again towards the mouth. Your outer tepals are not fused together over a length of 8 millimeters. The stamens and the stylus barely protrude from the flower.

Systematics and distribution

Aloe bullockii is widespread in the north-east of Tanzania in woodlands at altitudes of around 1220 meters.

The first description by Gilbert Westacott Reynolds was published in 1961.
