description

Vegetative characteristics

Aloe millotii grows trunk-forming and forms up to 20 shoots from the base . The prostrate, spreading or ascending shoots are up to 25 centimeters long and 7 to 9 millimeters wide. The triangular leaves are arranged in two rows in young plants, later they become spirals to rosettes . Below the tips of the shoots, they are persistent for a length of 7 centimeters. The cloudy gray-green, reddish tinged leaf blade is 8 to 10 centimeters long and 7 to 90 centimeters wide. There are about five soft, white, cartilaginous spines at its rounded tip. On the upper side of the leaf there are sometimes a few, small, cloudy white spots near the base. On the underside there are many scattered white spots 2 millimeters long and 1 to 1.5 millimeters wide. The white teeth on the leaf edge are 1 millimeter long and 5 to 10 millimeters apart.

Inflorescences and flowers

The simple inflorescence reaches a length of 12 to 15 centimeters. The loose, cylindrical grapes are 3 to 5 inches long, 4 to 5 inches and consist of six to eight flowers. The ovoid-pointed, knocked back bracts have a length of 7 millimeters and are 4 millimeters wide. The scarlet flowers , lighter at their mouth, are on 6 to 8 millimeter long flower stalks . They are 22 millimeters long and trimmed at their base. At the level of the ovary , the flowers are 7 millimeters in diameter. Above this they are narrowed to 6 millimeters and finally widened to the mouth. Your tepals are not fused together. The stamens and the pen stand out 1 to 2 millimeters from the flower.
