description
Vegetative characteristics
Aloe otallensis grows stemless, is simple or forms small groups. The approximately 24 triangular-lanceolate, narrowed leaves form a rosette . The gray-green leaf blade is 35 to 50 centimeters (rarely up to 80 centimeters) long and 4 to 6.5 centimeters (rarely up to 9.5 centimeters) wide. On it there are occasionally rounded-elongated, white spots that are arranged in longitudinal rows. The spots are more numerous on the underside of the leaf. The reddish brown teeth on the leaf margin are 3 to 4.5 millimeters long and 8 to 10 millimeters apart.
Inflorescences and flowers
The inflorescence has up to twelve branches and reaches a length of 100 centimeters and more. The dense, cylindrical grapes are 5 to 8 inches long. The ovate-blunt, short, finely pointed, white bracts have a length of 11 to 17 millimeters and are 4 to 6.5 millimeters wide. The light pink flowers are gray or yellow tipped and stand on 7 to 12 millimeter long peduncles . They are 19 to 23 millimeters (rarely up to 27 millimeters) long and narrowed at their base. Above the ovary , the flowers are slightly narrowed. Your outer tepals are not fused together over a length of about 10 millimeters. The stamens and the stylus barely protrude from the flower.
