description
Vegetative characteristics
Aloe pavelkae grows without a trunk or, as a rule, branches from the base with bundles of hanging trunks 150 to 300 centimeters in length. The linear-lanceolate leaves form compact rosettes . Their dark green, weakly striped leaf blades are 18 to 28 inches long and 2.5 to 7 inches wide. Young leaves have some white warts on the underside of the leaf. The white teeth on the cartilaginous margin of the leaf are 1.5 millimeters long and are 4 to 8 millimeters apart. The leaf juice dries orange-yellow.
Inflorescences and flowers
The inflorescence is simple or rarely has a branch. It reaches a length of 24 to 32 centimeters. At a length of 15 to 20 centimeters, the inflorescence is pendulous and then bent upwards. The dense, heady grapes are 4.5 to 9 inches long. The bracts have a length of 3 millimeters and are 1.5 millimeters wide. The cylindrical-triangular and almost club-shaped, orange-red flowers are pointed yellow and stand on 20 to 28 millimeter long flower stalks . They are about 25 millimeters long. At their base, the flowers have a diameter of 4 millimeters. Above that, they are extended to 6 millimeters towards the mouth. Your outer tepals are not fused together over a length of 15 millimeters. The stamens and the stylus barely protrude from the flower.
Systematics and distribution
Aloe pavelkae is widespread in Namibia on the Kuamsibberg on south-east facing sandstone cliffs.
