Aloe yemenica is a species of aloes in the subfamily of the Affodilla family (Asphodeloideae). The specific epithet yemenica refers to the occurrence of the species in Yemen .

description

Vegetative characteristics

Aloe yemenica grows trunk-forming and branches out from the base. The hanging, rarely upright trunk reaches a length of up to about 50 centimeters. The sword-shaped leaves are scattered on the shoots. The green leaf blade is about 55 inches long and 3.5 inches wide. In the youth stage it is spotted. The teeth on the leaf margin are short and 8 to 10 millimeters apart. The leaf sheaths are up to 3 inches long.

Inflorescences and flowers

The rising or curved back inflorescence has up to four branches and reaches a length of 30 centimeters. The loose grapes are cylindrical. The egg-shaped-pointed bracts have a length of 10 millimeters and are 7 millimeters wide. The red, rarely yellow flowers are on 8 to 10 millimeter long peduncles . They are about 22 millimeters long.

Aloe yemenica is common in Saudi Arabia and Yemen on sandstone cliffs at altitudes of 700 to 2000 meters.
