Alois Mitterwieser (born May 10, 1876 in Griesstätt , † November 20, 1943 in Munich ) was a German archivist and historian . He was the state archive director and head of the Munich district archive .
Life
Mitterwieser studied philosophy and law in Munich and Würzburg from 1897 . In 1907 he received his doctorate in law.
From 1903 he worked in the Würzburg district archive. In 1908 he dealt with the organization of community archives in Munich. After 1912 he headed the district and city archives in Landshut . In 1920 he became a consultant for municipal archive maintenance and state archivist in Munich. After 1931 he headed the Munich district archive and had the rank of state archive director.
