Alonso Gerardo Garza Treviño (born December 20, 1947 in Monterrey , Mexico ) is Bishop of Piedras Negras .
Life
Alonso Gerardo Garza Treviño received the sacrament of ordination for the Archdiocese of Monterrey on October 26, 1972 .
On January 8, 2003, Pope John Paul II appointed him the first bishop of the newly founded diocese of Piedras Negras. The archbishop emeritus of Monterrey, Adolfo Antonio Cardinal Suárez Rivera , donated him episcopal ordination on March 25 of the same year ; Co- consecrators were the Apostolic Nuncio in Mexico, Archbishop Giuseppe Bertello , and the Bishop of Saltillo , José Raúl Vera López OP .
