Catedral Martires de Cristo Rey

The diocese of Piedras Negras was established on January 8, 2003 by Pope John Paul II with the Apostolic Constitution Sollicitus de spirituali from cession of the diocese of Saltillo and subordinated to the Archdiocese of Monterrey as a suffragan . The first bishop was Alonso Gerardo Garza Treviño .
