Aloys Bach spent his childhood in Ullersdorf until 1779 and then in Oberschwedeldorf, where his father worked as a school teacher. From 1781 he was a student at the Glatzer Royal High School and then studied philosophy and Catholic theology at the University of Breslau . After being ordained a priest , from 1796 he was tutor of the Trebnitz monastery chancellor Gründler. From 1804 he was a religion teacher at the Matthias Gymnasium in Breslau , where he was appointed high school professor in 1808.

At his own request, Bach was transferred to the same position at the Royal Catholic High School in Glatz in 1812, where he mainly taught the reading of the Latin classics and Latin style exercises in the upper classes. In addition, he was appointed in 1818 by the Royal Prussian Provincial School Authority to regain the associated Konvikt . In addition to compulsory lessons, he particularly encouraged his students' musical training and sporting activities.

For health reasons he was retired in 1831 and then lived on a small estate in Oberschwedeldorf. There, based on the historiographical research of Joseph Kögler, he wrote the documented church history of the Grafschaft Glaz , which also contains a historical-statistical representation of all Glätz parishes and churches with their pastors and schools. It was printed in Wroclaw in 1841 and is still one of the most important works on the history of the County of Glatz. Bach also left an extensive handwritten history of the parish of Oberschwedeldorf in his estate , which was kept in the parish archive there until 1945.

In his will, Bach disposed of a large sum of his fortune for scholarships and bonuses for gifted poor pupils and students. He found his final resting place in the Oberschwedeldorfer Friedhof.
