Career

society

Akıcı began professional football in 1995 with the third division club in his hometown Gaziantep, Gaziantep Büyükşehir Belediyespor . Here he won a regular place straight away. At this club, which was renamed Büyükşehir Belediye Gaskispor (BB Gaskispor for short) in the summer of 1996 , he played until the summer of 1998 and was then given to the first division club in his hometown, Gaziantepspor . From this club, which was supported by the city administration like Gaskispor, he was loaned back to BB Gaskispor for a season.

For the 1999/00 season he moved to Gaziantep Büyükşehir Belediyespor . This club was formed in the summer of 1999 when the second division Gaziantep Sankspor handed over its competition rights to Gaziantep Büyükşehir Belediyespor, the company sports club of the city administration of Gaziantep. Akıcı only played one season at this club and returned to Gaziantepspor in the summer of 2000. Here he was used by the head coach Sakıp Özberk in three league games and finished the league with his team in 3rd place in the table. After he was used by Özberk's successors in the first half of the 2001/02 season in only two games, his club loaned him to Denizlispor for the second half . So he followed previous coach Sakıp Özberk and was used by this in 15 league games. Returned to Gaziantepspor in the summer of 2002, he was promoted to a regular here as well and became one of the shooting stars of the 2002/03 season. So he was also nominated for the second selection of the Turkish national team .

His achievements in the last one and a half seasons led to Akıcı being loaned out by Fenerbahçe Istanbul in the summer of 2003 with an option to buy for the 2003/04 season. Here he was hardly used by head coach Christoph Daum until the winter break and was therefore sent back to Gaziantepspor for the second half of the season. This club sold Akıcı to the league rivals Çaykur Rizespor . After brief guest appearances for Kayserispor and Konyaspor , he was signed by Samsunspor in the summer of 2005 .

For the 200 season Akıcı moved to the second division Malatyaspor and played here for the next three and a half seasons. After spending the second half of the 2009/10 season at Karsspor , he ended his career in the summer of 2010.

National team

2003 Akıcı was once called into the squad of the second selection of the Turkish national team , the A-2 selection. In this appointment, Akıcı was only on the bench.
