Alt porn / ɔːlt pɔrn / (also known asalt-porn,altporn,alternapornor justold) is the English-language abbreviation foralternative pornography. Feature of theold pornare actresses with alternative appearance ofsubculturessuch aspunks,emos,gothsorskaters. Alt pornis often produced by small and independent websites or filmmakers. The models mostly have physical changes such astattoos,piercingsor temporary differences such as colored hair. The term indie porn is also sometimes used, although this more generally stands for independent pornography , regardless of the orientation towards any alternative subculture.

History of origin

While pornography specifically geared towards alternative culture did not emerge until the 1990s, the works of Gregory Dark , David Aaron Clark , Michael Ninn and Stephen Sayadian are regarded by some as the predecessors of alt porn . The Cinema of Transgression or Richard Kern and Nick Zedd (just like Kern's later photographic work) can also be seen as early examples of alt porn .

For the first time, the glossy magazine Blue Blood was explicitly dedicated to “subcultural eroticism”. It started in 1992 and featured models with a gothic or cyberpunk look. However, the largest market for alt porn developed on the internet. Along with a few short-lived private sites, the first explicit alt-porn site was Blue Blood's GothicSluts.com in early 1999, followed by Raverporn.net (renamed EroticBPM.com) in July of that year, and by NakkidNerds in December. Supercult started in 2000, followed by SuicideGirls in 2001, which became the most popular and financially lucrative alt-porn website. With the success of SuicideGirls, the number of alt porn websites has grown tremendously since 2002. In addition to the websites mentioned, BurningAngel.com and GodsGirls.com are among the well-known websites.

The terms alternative pornography or old porn were created in the early 2000s to refer to SuicideGirls, RaverPorn and similar sites; long-term projects like Blue Blood generally used terms like subcultural erotica .

Old porn websites often differ from other “normal” porn sites in that they offer message boards, blogs , social networking and other tools from online communities that encourage models and users to communicate.

Videos

Well-known actors in the genre include Joanna Angel , Justine Joli , Katja Kassin , Dana DeArmond, Kurt Lockwood , Rob Rotten, Sasha Gray , Mia Rose , Ava Rose , Kleio Valentien and Charlotte Stokely. In 2005, the film Stuntgirl by director Jack the Zipper received Best All Sex Release , Best Couples Sex Scene - Video (Angelica Costello and Manuel Ferrara ) and Best Director - Non Feature at the AVN Awards .
