The Alte Hausbrennerei Penninger GmbH is a distillery based in Hauzenberg .
history
Stefan Penninger founded a company for the production of vinegar in Hauzenberg in 1905 . His son Stefan learned the schnapps distillery in Lorraine and in 1920 expanded the vinegar business with fruit brandies made from local fruits. In 2015, the company received the two-country award for sustainability, social commitment and the promotion of young talent from the government district of Lower Bavaria and the state of Upper Austria.
Products
Penninger is known for its liqueurs and spirits , which are sold as typical Bavarian specialties both locally in Lower Bavaria and as far as the state capital Munich. Among other things, the Penninger Bärwurz and the Penninger Blutwurz are known . Some of the products are bottled in traditional ceramic bottles. For a long time Joseph Hannesschläger acted as an advertising figure for print advertising . He was known as the original Bavarian caliber in the character Korbinian Hofer in the television series The Rosenheim Cops . Through this connection, Penninger's bloodroot product was successfully marketed as traditionally Bavarian .
Penninger schnapps museums
Penninger operates eight so-called schnapps museums in Lower Bavaria , Upper Bavaria and the Allgäu (more precisely: in the communities of Bad Griesbach , Bad Füssing , Böbrach , Hauzenberg , Oberstaufen , Oberstdorf , Reit im Winkl and Spiegelau ). Similar to many brewery tours in the beer business, in addition to the sale of spirits, insights into the schnapps production are given here, and the basics of schnapps distilling are explained.
