Altenschwand (hamlet / train station) is a district of the municipality of Bodenwöhr in the southern district of Schwandorf in the Bavarian administrative district of Upper Palatinate .
geography
Altenschwand (hamlet / train station) is about two kilometers north of the town of Altenschwand on the SAD 18 district road. The Altenschwand depot is on the Schwandorf – Furth railway line in the forest . Passenger trains also stopped here until 2001 . In the meantime the trains pass the place without stopping.

At the time of the resistance against the Wackersdorf reprocessing plant , the "Schwall" or better "Schwandner Allgemeine" appeared, an anti-WAA resistance leaflet by and for citizens of the Altenschwand- and Neuenschwand ( Bodenwoehr ), later also in the Wackersdorf area and the district Schwandorf spreads.
Attractions
- Francis Marterl - The Francis wayside chapels is a image stock in the southeast of the unfinished reprocessing plant in Wackersdorf "In Blueberry Forest" near the station operating Altenschwand. Shortly before the former Altenschwand train station, the path branches off towards “Im Blaubeerwald”. After about 300 meters you will find the Franziskus-Marterl on the left.
