Altfeld is a district of the town of Marktheidenfeld in the Lower Franconian district of Main-Spessart in the German state of Bavaria .

Altfeld lies on the Altfelder Graben . Neighboring places are Glasofen , Trennfeld , Rettersheim , Oberwittbach , Michelrieth and Kredenbach .

history

Before the regional reform in Bavaria , Altfeld was an independent municipality.

In 1862 the Marktheidenfeld district office was formed, on whose administrative area Altfeld was located. In 1939, as everywhere in the German Reich, the designation district was introduced. Altfeld was now one of the 47 communities in the district of Marktheidenfeld (license plate MAR ). With the dissolution of the district of Marktheidenfeld in 1972, Altfeld came into the newly formed district of Main-Spessart (license plate KAR , from 1979 MSP ).

On July 1, 1972, the communities of Oberwittbach and Michelrieth were incorporated into Altfeld. Altfeld has been part of Marktheidenfeld since January 1, 1976 . The village had a population of 797 on November 30, 2018.
