Oberwittbach is a district of the town of Marktheidenfeld in the Lower Franconian district of Main-Spessart in the German state of Bavaria .

The Wittbach flows through Oberwittbach . Neighboring towns are Altfeld , Rettersheim , Unterwittbach , Röttbach and Michelrieth .
history
Before the regional reform in Bavaria , Oberwittbach was an independent municipality.
In 1862 the district office of Marktheidenfeld was formed, on whose administrative area Oberwittbach was located. In 1939, as everywhere in the German Reich, the designation district was introduced. Oberwittbach was now one of the 47 communities in the Marktheidenfeld district (license plate MAR ). With the dissolution of the district of Marktheidenfeld in 1972, Oberwittbach came into the newly formed district of Main-Spessart (license plate KAR , from 1979 MSP ).
On July 1, 1972, the municipality of Oberwittbach was dissolved and incorporated into Altfeld . Since January 1, 1976 Oberwittbach has been a district of Marktheidenfeld. On November 30, 2018, Oberwittbach had a population of 164.
