Amos Johnson

Amos Johnson (born April 9, 1941 in Sampson County ) is a retired American automobile racing driver .

Career in motorsport

For many years, Amos Johnson was Roger Mandeville's team partner in the various racing versions of the Mazda RX-7 in sports car races in North America, and in the 1980s he was one of the most famous racing drivers in the IMSA GTP series . Four times in a row he finished the IMSA GTU or GTO class as third overall of the year. 1983 , behind Roger Mandeville and Jim Downing , 1984 behind Mandeville and Gene Felton , 1985 behind Jack Baldwin and Chris Cord and 1986 behind Tommy Kendall and Mandeville.
