Bang Rachan District ( Thai : อำเภอ บางระจัน ) is a district ( Amphoe - administrative district) of the province of Sing Buri . Sing Buri Province is located in the central region of Thailand .

geography

Neighboring districts are (from north clockwise): Sankhaburi District of Province Chai Nat , the Amphoe In Buri , Mueang Sing Buri and Khai Bang Rachan Province Sing Buri and Amphoe Doem Bang Nang Buat of the province of Suphan Buri .

history

Most of what is now Bang Rachan County was part of the historic Mueang Sing in the past . When the Mueang Sing government reestablished the area, the area was divided into two parts - Bang Phutsa (now Mueang Sing Buri) and Sing. 1993 became the district renamed Bang Rachan.

The county’s first administrative building was on the right bank of the Noi River in Tambon Choeng Klat. In 1898 it was moved to the left bank in Tambon Sing.

The historic struggle of the Thai villagers of Bang Rachan against the Burmese army did not take place in this district, despite the fact that they had the same name, but in the neighboring Amphoe Khai Bang Rachan , which was separated from the Bang Rachan district in 1972.

A sub-campus of Thepsatri Rajabhat University is located in Amphoe Bang Rachan .

There is one commune with "city" status ( Thesaban Mueang ) in the district:

  • Bang Rachan (Thai: เทศบาล เมือง บางระจัน ) consisting of the parts of Tambon Sing, Mai Dat, Choeng Klat, Pho Chon Kai.

There are also five " tambon administration organizations " ( องค์การ บริหาร ส่วน ตำบล - Tambon Administrative Organizations, TAO)

  • Mai Dat (Thai: องค์การ บริหาร ส่วน ตำบล ไม้ดัด ) consisting of the parts of the Tambon Mai Dat, Choeng Klat.
  • Mae La (Thai: องค์การ บริหาร ส่วน ตำบล แม่ ลา ) consisting of the complete Tambon Mae La and the parts of the Tambon Sing, Pho Chon Kai.
  • Ban Cha (Thai: องค์การ บริหาร ส่วน ตำบล บ้าน จ่า ) consisting of the complete Tambon Ban Cha.
  • Phak Than (Thai: องค์การ บริหาร ส่วน ตำบล พัก ทัน ) consisting of the complete Tambon Phak Than.
  • Sa Chaeng (Thai: องค์การ บริหาร ส่วน ตำบล สระ แจง ) consisting of the complete tambon Sa Chaeng.
