Amphoe Wang Chin ( Thai อำเภอ วัง ชิ้น , pronunciation: ʔāmpʰɤ̄ː wāŋ tɕʰín ) is the south-westernmost district ( Amphoe - administrative district) of the Phrae Province in northern Thailand .

geography

Neighboring districts are (from the southeast clockwise): Amphoe Long and Den Chai Phrae province, Amphoe Si Satchanalai of Sukhothai Province and Amphoe Thoen , Sop Prap and Mae Tha of Lampang Province .

The National Park Wiang Kosai located in the district of Wang Chin.

history

The area of Wang Chin originally belonged to Mueang Lampang County . In 1930 it was incorporated into Long County of Phrae Province. On March 1, 1939, the subdistrict ( King Amphoe ) Wang Chin was created, which was subordinate to the Amphoe Long. In 1958, Wang Chin received full Amphoe status.

Local administration

Wang Chin (Thai: เทศบาล ตำบล วัง ชิ้น ) is a small town ( Thesaban Tambon ) in the district, it consists of parts of the tambon of the same name.

There are also seven “Tambon Administrative Organizations” (TAO, องค์การ บริหาร ส่วน ตำบล - administrative organizations) for the tambon in the district that do not belong to any city.
