Amphoe Mueang Phrae ( Thai : อำเภอ เมือง แพร่ , pronunciation: ʔāmpʰɤ̄ː mɯ̄aŋ pʰrɛ̂ː ) is a district ( amphoe - administrative district) in the Phrae Province in the northern region of Thailand .
Phrae is also the capital of the Phrae Province.
geography
Neighboring districts (clockwise from southwest): Sung Men , Long , Nong Muang Khai and Rong Kwang districts in Phrae Province, Na Muen district in Nan Province and Tha Pla district in Uttaradit Province .
economy
Rice cultivation is an important source of income. The manufacture of rattan furniture and textiles is also important , in particular the “Mohom”, the work shirt made of coarsely woven blue cotton fabric.

Phrae ( เทศบาล เมือง แพร่ ) is a city ( Thesaban Mueang ) , it consists of the entire Tambon Nai Wiang.
There are also nine small towns ( Thesaban Tambon ) in the district:
- Cho Hae ( เทศบาล ตำบล ช่อ แฮ ) consists of parts of the Tambon Pa Seang and the entire Tambon Cho Hae,
- Tung Hong ( เทศบาล ตำบล ทุ่ง โฮ้ ง ) consists of the entire tambon Tung Hong,
- Mae Lai ( เทศบาล ตำบล แม่ ห ล่า ย ) consists of the entire tambon Mae Lai,
- Pa Maet ( เทศบาล ตำบล ป่า แม ต ) consists of the entire tambon Pa Maet,
- Mae Kham Mi ( เทศบาล ตำบล แม่ คำ มี ) consists of the entire tambon Mae Kham Mi,
- Ban Thin ( เทศบาล ตำบล บ้าน ถิ่น ) consists of the entire Tambon Ban Thin,
- Suan Khuean ( เทศบาล ตำบล สวน เขื่อน ) consists of the entire tambon Suan Khuean,
- Wang Hong ( เทศบาล ตำบล วัง หงส์ ) consists of the entire tambon Wang Hong,
