The Beelitz Office was a Brandenburg office formed in 1992 , in which eleven municipalities and the city of Beelitz in what was then Potsdam-Land (now Potsdam-Mittelmark , Brandenburg ) had come together to form an administrative association. The seat of the official administration was in the city of Beelitz. The Beelitz office was dissolved again in 2001 when the municipalities belonging to the office merged to form the new city of Beelitz. At the end of 2001 it had 12,258 inhabitants.

The Beelitz office bordered in the north on the Werder and Schwielowsee offices , in the northeast on the free municipality Seddiner See and the Michendorf office , in the southeast on the Trebbin and Nuthe-Urstromtal offices, in the south on the Treuenbrietzen and Niemegk offices and in the west on the Offices Brück and Lehnin .

history

On June 23, 1992, the Minister of the Interior gave his approval for the establishment of the Beelitz Office with its seat in the city of Beelitz. June 26, 1992 was set as the date of implementation. The following municipalities of the then Potsdam-Land district were merged (in the order in which they were named in the official gazette):

At the end of 1992 it had 9,721 inhabitants.

On July 1, 1998, the municipality of Buchholz near Treuenbrietzen changed its name to Buchholz near Beelitz.

Today's large community was created through the merger of the city of Beelitz with the places of the former Beelitz office on December 31, 2001. The Beelitz office was dissolved at the same time.

The official director and at the same time also the mayor of the city of Beelitz was Thomas Wardin from 1992 to 2001.
