The office in Hüsten is an administrative district that was created in the province of Westphalia in 1837 and existed in varying forms until December 31, 1974.

history

In 1836 Neheim left the mayor's office, which was formed around 1816, and received city rights . A year later, the district association Hüsten was formed from the remaining area, with its headquarters in Hüsten . The next largest administrative unit was the Arnsberg district . At the time, the official association consisted of the three parishes of Hüsten, Vosswinkel and Enkhausen , which comprised a total of 16 localities. For the centenary of the office in 1937, 19,661 inhabitants were counted on a total area of 147.19 km². The administrative seat remained in Hüsten, even when the place left office in 1941 and was merged with the city of Neheim to form the new city of Neheim-Hüsten . Since 1910 the office building was the seat of the administration.

In 1961 the office had a population of 16,614 people in an area of 132.02 km². At that time, the district of Hüsten included Bachum, Bruchhausen (Ruhr), Echthausen, Enkhausen, Estinghausen, Hachen, Herdringen, Hövel, Holzen, Langscheid (Sorpesee), Müschede, Niedereimer, Stemel, Voßwinkel and Wennigloh.

When the official association was dissolved on December 31, 1974, 82.56 km² fell to the city of Arnsberg , 41.19 km² to Sundern , 8.22 km² to Wickede and 0.05 km² to Menden .
