history

As a result of the administrative reform of 1838 in the Kingdom of Bavaria , the Oberviechtach Regional Court was established in 1840 . 38 parishes were assigned to this. Over the years, the number kept changing. In 1862, as a result of the separation of the judiciary and administration, the regional court district of Oberviechtach and the regional court district of Neunburg vorm Wald were merged to form the district office of Neunburg vorm Wald. The Oberviechtach Regional Court remained as the court authority and was renamed the Oberviechtach Local Court with the introduction of the Courts Constitution Act in 1879. On October 1, 1900, the Oberviechtach district office was formed from 37 communities in the Neunburg vorm Wald district office . After the Oberviechtach district was dissolved, the district court in Oberviechtach was also dissolved in 1973 and operated only as a branch of the Schwandorf district court . In autumn 2015, the Oberviechtach branch of the Schwandorf District Court was closed. The building is now used by the land register group of the Munich District Court .
