The Waldkirch District Court is a court of ordinary jurisdiction and one of ten District Courts (AG) in the district of the Freiburg Regional Court .

history

After the separation of administration and justice in the Grand Duchy of Baden in 1857, the newly created district court was initially housed in the building of the district office on the market square and from 1865 in the notary's building below the Catholic rectory. In 1906 a new district court building with a detention center was completed on Freie Strasse, where the court is still housed today.

Seat and District of the Court

The seat of the court is Waldkirch . The judicial district includes the cities of Elzach and Waldkirch as well as the communities Gutach , Simonswald , Winden and Biederbach . This means that just over 39,000 people live in the judicial district.

Jurisdiction

The District Court of Waldkirch is the court of first instance in civil and criminal matters, as well as in matters of voluntary jurisdiction . However, the District Court of Emmendingen is responsible for family , lay judge and detention matters .

For Mahnsachen is Stuttgart District Court and agricultural matters , the District Court of Freiburg in charge.

Superior courts

The Freiburg Regional Court is directly superordinate to the Waldkirch District Court . The competent higher regional court is the higher regional court in Karlsruhe and in civil matters its external senate in Freiburg. The highest court is the Federal Court of Justice .
