The Wismar District Court is a court of the ordinary jurisdiction of the state of Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania in the district of the Schwerin District Court .

    The judicial district, originally about 540  km 2 in size, was enlarged to around 1840 km 2 through the reform of the judicial structure . About 142,000 people live in it.

    The courthouse is located in the Fürstenhof , Vor dem Fürstenhof 1 in 23966 Wismar . It is located in the immediate vicinity of the market square in the "Gothic Quarter". Also in the immediate vicinity was the youth detention center in Wismar , which was closed in September 2014. The branch in Grevesmühlen is located at the address of the former local court there, Bahnhofstrasse 2-4 .
