Anastassija Romanovna Sacharjina-Jurjewa ( Russian Анастасия Романовна Захарьина-Юрьева , German scientific transliteration according to DIN 1460 Anastasija Romanovna Zachar'ina-Jur'eva ; * around 1523 ; † August 7, 1560 ) was the first consort of Iwanin of the Russian Tsar IV , † August 7, 1560 . , the terrible, and with it the first Russian tsarina.

Life

She was the daughter of the boyar Roman Jurjewitsch Sacharjin-Jurjew (Роман Юрьевич Захарьин-Юрьев; † February 16, 1543), who gave the later Romanov dynasty the name, and his wife Uliana Ivanovna († 1579).

She was chosen as the bride of Ivan IV from among a large number (500–1500) of marriageable daughters of noble Russian families invited to the Kremlin . The marriage with the tsar took place on February 3, 1547 in the Cathedral of the Annunciation . Ivan IV was very attached to her, and she was said to have a soothing influence on his changing temperament. In July 1560 she fell into severe agony , to which she succumbed on August 7th. Ivan IV suspected the boyars, whom he had hated since his childhood, of having poisoned his wife, and had several executed, although he had no evidence in his hands. Forensic examinations of her skeleton in the 20th century have since confirmed his suspicions, as extremely large amounts of mercury , arsenic and lead were discovered.

Anastassija Romanovna was the aunt Fyodor Nikititsch Romanow -Jurjew, the son of her brother Nikita Romanowitsch Sacharjin-Jurjew, who was the first to adopt the name "Romanow" as a family name. This Fyodor Nikititsch Romanow-Jurjew was thus the cousin of her own youngest son and last rurikidenzar Fyodor I. Ivanovich - a circumstance that led to the election of Michael Romanov as tsar after the time of turmoil .
