André Mayamba Mabuti Kathongo (* 1931 in Mukila ; † April 12, 2016 ) was Bishop of Popokabaka (Democratic Republic of the Congo).

Life

André Mayamba Mabuti Kathongo was ordained a priest for the diocese of Popokabaka on July 12, 1959 .

Pope Paul VI appointed him on April 27, 1978 Coadjutor Bishop of Popokabaka. The Bishop of Popokabaka, Pierre Bouckaert SJ , donated him episcopal ordination on August 27 of the same year ; Co - consecrators were Edoardo Rovida , Apostolic Pro-Nuncio in Zaire , and Alexander Mbuka-Nzundu , Bishop of Kikwit .

With the resignation of Pierre Bouckaert SJ on December 1, 1979, he succeeded him as Bishop of Popokabaka. On September 24, 1993, Pope John Paul II accepted his early resignation.
