history

The diocese Popokabaka was on June 24, 1961 by Pope John XXIII. established with the Apostolic Constitution Quod Sacrum from cessions of territory of the diocese of Kisantu . It is subordinate to the Archdiocese of Kinshasa as a suffragan .
