Andrea Ludolph

Andrea Gerda Ludolph (born Kuttig; born December 9, 1962 in Ahlen / Westphalia, North Rhine-Westphalia ; † September 23, 2015 in Ulm , Baden-Württemberg ) was a German child and youth psychiatrist and psychotherapist , lecturer and author of numerous scientific studies Publications. Her research focused on the brain morphology of children and adolescents with neuropsychiatric illnesses and the possibilities (and limits) of psychopharmacological therapies ( e.g. with fluoxetine and paroxetine ) in children and adolescents for attention deficit / hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) and Tourette's syndrome, as well as those to date insufficiently researched effects of psychotropic substances on the cellular level .

Life

Andrea Gerda Kuttig attended the St. Marien School from 1969 to 1973 and the St. Michael High School in Ahlen from 1973 to 1982. After graduating from high school in 1982, she studied human medicine from 1982 to 1989 at the Westphalian Wilhelms University in Münster .

From 1989 she worked as a doctor at the Clinic for Radiology and Radiation Therapy at the Clemens Hospital in Münster. From 1990 she was an intern at the Department of Radiology at Health Sciences University in Portland , Oregon , USA, and in 1990/91 at the Center for Research on Occupational and Environmental Toxicology at the same university.

In March 1991 she received her license to practice medicine. In June 1991 she was awarded a PhD from the Westphalian Wilhelms University. med. PhD (thesis topic: cerebral blood flow and neurotransmission in amyotrophic lateral sclerosis ).

In December 2008 she received her habilitation (subject of the habilitation thesis: Psychotropic drugs and the developing brain. Specific aspects of drug therapy in child and adolescent psychiatry ).
