Andrea Spingler

Andrea Spingler (born June 30, 1949 in Stuttgart ) is a German translator of French literature .

Life

Andrea Spingler studied theater history , literary history and the history of philosophy in Munich .

Since 1980 she has translated works by Jean-Paul Sartre , Marguerite Duras , Agnès Desarthe , Alexandre Dumas the Younger , André Gide , Jean-Luc Seigle, Maylis de Kerangal , Olivier Adam , Pierre Drieu la Rochelle , Yann Queffélec , Alain Robbe-Grillet , Patrick Modiano , Lucie Aubrac and Pascale Kramer . She lives in Oldenburg and in the south of France .

Spingler is a member of the Association of German-Language Translators of Literary and Scientific Works , VdÜ

Honors

In 2007 Andrea Spingler was awarded the Eugen Helmlé Translation Prize for German-French translations and in 2012 the Prix ​​lémanique de la traduction .
