Andreas Christoph Augspurg

Andreas Christoph Augspurg (* 1660 in Wolfenbüttel ; † March 4, 1717 in Hanover ) was a German high school director .

Life

Andreas Christoph Augsburg was born in 1660 as the son of the Wolfenbüttel rector, the " Johann Augsburg " who was appointed superintendent in Schöppenstedt in 1661 .

Augspurg studied at the universities in Helmstedt , Wittenberg and Jena . In 1683 he was appointed rector of the school in " Osterwyk ", and in 1688 as rector of the Andreaneum grammar school in Hildesheim. In 1697 or 1698, Augspurg finally took over the rectorate at the lyceum in Hanover, where he worked for around two decades.

Augspurg drafted new, improved Hanover school regulations. His deduction speech Oratio de disciplina scholastica ... , which was first published in 1698 in Hildesheim on 4 sheets , to which a poem is attached, he titled as “orationem primam”; possibly he gave an orationem secundam at his inaugural address in Hanover.

Johann Christoph Augspurg married Anna Elisabeth Keil († 1710) in Braunschweig in 1688. In his second marriage he married Dorothea Greve. The couple had the sons of the later Chamber Secretary Johann Christoph Augspurg (baptized June 14, 1712 in Hanover; † September 22, 1771 there), as well as Levin Adam Augspurg († 1740), pastor of Hattorf, and his brother Johann August Augspurg († 1763 ), Pastor to Lohe.

Johann Christoph Augspurg's widow Dorothea Greve († January 5, 1758 in Hanover) married the chamber clerk Johann Heinrich Redecker for the second time .
