Johann Heinrich Redecker

Johann Heinrich Redecker (born August 3, 1682 in Hanover ; † November 10, 1764 ibid) was an official and chamber clerk and chronicler .

Career

Johann Heinrich Redecker was the son of a court official and probably grew up in Harpstedt an der Delme . There he was already active as an official clerk before 1700 before he worked as court clerk in Hanover, probably from 1723.

In the castle church of the Leineschloss , Redecker married Dorothea Elisabeth Gräfe on August 15, 1726, daughter of the bell founder Gräfe and widow of the rector Andreas Christoph Augspurg. After acquiring the house at Röselerstraße 11, Redecker received free citizenship of the (old) city of Hanover on December 4, 1733 .

After his death, his son-in-law presented Redecker's handwritten Chronik Historische Collectanea ... to the magistrate of Hanover .

His handwritten Chronik Historische Collectanea ... , also called Redecker's Chronik or Collectanea Hannoverana , is a valuable source for the history of the city of Hanover, especially for the first half of the 18th century. Excerpts from it were published in numerous booklets of the Hanover history sheets. The original of the manuscript is in the possession of the Hannover City Archives .
