Andreas Dornheim

Andreas Dornheim (born November 20, 1958 in Würzburg ) is a German historian .

After studying history and political science at the Eberhard-Karls-Universität Tübingen and receiving his doctorate ( Dr. rer. Soc. ) In 1992, Dornheim worked as a research assistant at the Institute for History at the Erfurt University of Education . After his habilitation in 2001, Dornheim taught as a private lecturer for modern history and regional history at the University of Erfurt . In October 2007 he moved to the Institute for History at the Otto Friedrich University in Bamberg . From 2008 to 2012 he represented the chair for modern and contemporary history, including regional history. He is also the 2nd chairman and managing director of the Society for Agricultural History .

Dornheim prepared a report for the Federal Ministry of Food, Agriculture and Consumer Protection "on the role of the Reich Ministry of Food and Agriculture in the Nazi era", which has been published online since April 29, 2011. The news magazine Der Spiegel emphasizes that the Bamberg historian sees the “personal continuities from the Third Reich to the Federal Republic of Germany the worst researched today”, especially in the field of agricultural policy. According to his report, “many Nazi agricultural politicians are high SS leaders and convinced representatives of the Nazi racial ideology “.

Andreas Dornheim is married and has two children.
