Andreas Gottfried Lämmel (born April 19, 1959 in Falkenstein / Vogtl. , GDR ) is a German politician ( CDU ), qualified engineer and confectioner . He has been a member of the German Bundestag since 2005 .

Life and work

After attending the Polytechnic High School (POS), Lämmel completed an apprenticeship as a pastry chef from 1975 and then did his military service in the National People's Army from 1978 to 1979 . From 1979 to 1982 he studied at an engineering school , from 1985 to 1987 at the Technical University of Leipzig . From 1982 to 1990 he worked in industry.

In 1990 Lämmel worked in Dresden, initially as the full-time managing director of the New Forum and later of the CDU district association. In 1991 he moved to the Saxon State Ministry for Economic Affairs, Labor and Transport as head of the fundamental questions department and finally headed the business settlement department at Saxony Economic Development Corporation from 1993 to 1994 .

Andreas Lämmel has been married since 1982 and has two sons.

Political party

During the fall of the Wall , Lämmel joined the New Forum in 1989, but joined the CDU in February 1990. Until 2011, Lämmel was chairman of the Saxony regional association of the SME and Business Association (MIT) of the CDU / CSU. From 2011 to 2013 he was chairman of the CDU district association in Dresden.

From 1994 until the resignation of his mandate on November 30, 2005, Lämmel was a member of the Saxon state parliament , where he was economic policy spokesman for the CDU parliamentary group from 1999 to 2004 and chairman of the economic committee from 2004 to 2005. He represented the constituency of Dresden 1 in the state parliament.

Lämmel has been a member of the German Bundestag since 2005 .

Andreas Lämmel has entered the Bundestag as a directly elected member of the Dresden I constituency . In the by-election in the constituency of Dresden I on October 2, 2005, he received 37.0% of the first votes and on September 27, 2009 36.6%. In the federal election on September 22, 2013, Lämmel was confirmed with 42.58% of the first votes in the constituency. In the 2017 federal election, he was able to prevail against the AfD direct candidate Jens Maier (22.4%) with 24.5% of the first votes .

Lämmel is the chairman of the CDU / CSU parliamentary group in the Committee for Economic Affairs and Energy in the 19th German Bundestag . He is deputy chairman of the SME parliamentary group (PKM) and chairman of the Africa working group of the CDU / CSU parliamentary group. He is also a deputy member of the Tourism Committee and the Foreign Affairs Committee .

Lämmel is a member of the board of trustees of the Deutsche Gesellschaft e. V. , Honorary President of the State Tourism Association of Saxony e. V. and member of the board of the German Africa Foundation .
