Andreas Gaber (born January 15, 1973 ) is a former German soccer player .

The midfielder was mainly under contract with TSG 1899 Hoffenheim and FC-Astoria Walldorf or its predecessor club FC 08 Walldorf . With Schalke 04 he played briefly in the 1st Bundesliga .

Career

Andreas Gaber played in the Youth in Schwetzingen and played in three games for the German Under-19 national team .

Gaber began his adult career in 1988 at FC 08 Walldorf , which later became FC Astoria Walldorf through a merger. In 1990/91 he played for 1. FC Amberg.

In 1991 he was signed by Bundesliga club FC Schalke 04, where Gaber played three Bundesliga games in 1991/92 . In the following 1992/93 season he was not used in any game. In 1993 Gaber took part in the military world championship in Morocco with the Bundeswehr national team and took third place.

From the 1993/94 season, two seasons followed at the top division club FC Remscheid . From 1995 onwards Gaber played for TSG 1899 Hoffenheim for nine years; with this he achieved successive promotions in the association league Baden (1996), Oberliga Baden-Württemberg (2000) and Regionalliga Süd (2001). From 2001 to 2004, he played 51 regional league games for Hoffenheim.

After leaving TSG in 2004, Gaber ended his career at FC Astoria Walldorf, where he had played for the predecessor club FC 08 about a decade and a half earlier. With promotion to the Oberliga Baden-Württemberg in 2007, he ended his sporting career.

Following the end of his career, Gaber became the sports director of the Walldorf team.
