Career

Andreas Guttmann has been taking part in FIS and World Cup races since 2009 . On June 5th he drove his first FIS race in Wilhelmsburg , a Super-G which he finished in 35th place. The next day he competed in his first World Cup race. In this super combination, he finished 28th and won his first World Cup points. Overall, he was able to classify himself among the top 30 three times in the 2009 World Cup season, bringing him to 61st place overall. At the Junior World Championships 2009 in July and August, Guttmann was eleventh in the giant slalom, 22nd in the super combined and 25th in the super G. In the slalom he was disqualified after a goal error in the first run. A month later he also took part in the 2009 World Championships in Rettenbach , near his home town of Oberwart . He finished 32nd in the giant slalom and 35th in the Super-G. In the slalom and in the super combined he was disqualified after peat errors.

At the Junior World Championships 2010 in Dizin , Andreas Guttmann was tenth in the Super-G, twelfth in the giant slalom and 22nd in the super combined; in the slalom, however, he was eliminated. He achieved his best World Cup results at the end of the 2010 season . With 17th place in the Frais-Chiomonte slalom , he was among the fastest 20 for the first time and the next day he was able to improve further with eleventh place in the Sestriere slalom . He finished the overall World Cup in 48th position. In the 2011 season , three eleventh places were again his best World Cup results. In the overall World Cup he climbed to 17th place. At the 2011 World Championships in Goldingen , Guttmann took 20th place in the giant slalom. He could not finish the Super-G and he did not compete in the slalom and super combination. In the Junior World Championship , which was held at the same time , he achieved two fifth places in the giant slalom and in the Super-G. In the slalom and thus also in the combination, he failed.

In the 2012 season , Guttmann achieved top 10 results in World Cup races for the first time: He was ninth in the Super Combined by Rettenbach and tenth in the two Super G by Dizin. These were also his only countable World Cup results of the year, which is why he fell back to 30th place in the overall World Cup. Guttmann won the bronze medal in the giant slalom at the 2012 Junior World Championships in Burbach . He narrowly missed another medal as fourth in the Super-G. In the slalom he was seventh, in the super combined he was eliminated.
