Andreas Hölzl (born March 16, 1985 in Kitzbühel ) is an Austrian football player in the position of midfielder .
Career
In 2003 Hölzl moved from the Bundesliga youth center in Tirol to FC Wacker Tirol . In his first season he was champion in the first division with FC Wacker Tirol and was promoted to the Bundesliga. For the 2004/05 season he was loaned to SV Wörgl , but returned to FC Wacker Tirol during the season and made twelve appearances. He made his debut in the Austrian Bundesliga on September 25, 2004 against Admira ; the game was lost 0-2 and Hölzl was substituted in the 74th minute by Olushola Aganun .
In the following season he had a regular place on the offensive of FC Wacker Tirol and barely escaped relegation with the club. This season he scored his first Bundesliga goal with the goal to make it 4-0 on December 8, 2005. Hölzl, who had already played for Austria's U-21 national team, won the four-nation tournament for the first time during his time in Tyrol In 2006 he was appointed to the squad of the Austrian national team in Switzerland , but was not used.
After FC Wacker Innsbruck was relegated from the Bundesliga, Hölzl moved to SK Sturm Graz in 2008/09 . He quickly became a regular at Sturm Graz and finally made his international debut under team boss Karel Brückner on October 11, 2008 in a 1-1 away game against the Faroe Islands in the 2010 World Cup qualifying . On November 19, 2008 he scored his first two international goals for 1: 0 and 2: 3 (final score 2: 4) in his second international match and the first from the start in a friendly international match against Turkey .
On December 11th, 2009, Hölzl extended his contract with Sturm Graz until 2012. On May 25th, 2011 he became Austrian champion for the first time with Sturm Graz. In the decisive game against Wacker Innsbruck, he scored the opening goal.
For the 2014/15 season he moved back to FC Wacker Innsbruck .
For the 2017/18 season he moved to the regional division FC Kitzbühel .
