Andreas Suwiyata Henrisusanta SCI (born June 7, 1935 in Wonosari , † March 10, 2016 in Jakarta ) was an Indonesian religious and bishop of Tanjungkarang .

Life

Andreas Henrisusanta, the seventh of nine children of a peasant family, joined the religious order of the Dehonians and studied theology at the seminary of St. Paul in Palembang as well as theology and canon law at the Pontifical Gregorian University in Rome, where he also received his doctorate in 1966 with the writing De Probatione per documents in Precessu Canonico . He made his profession on September 8, 1959 and was ordained a priest on July 2, 1961 . After postgraduate studies in Friborg, he returned to his native Indonesia in 1966. He was pastor in Telukbetung, Kedaton, Metro, Kotabumi and Tanjungkarang as well as a lecturer at the Catholic University of Lampung.

Pope Paul VI appointed him on August 29, 1975 auxiliary bishop in Tanjungkarang and titular bishop of Ubaba . The Archbishop of Semarang and Military Vicar of Indonesia , Justinus Cardinal Darmojuwono , donated him episcopal ordination on February 11 of the next year ; Co - consecrators were Vincenzo Maria Farano , Apostolic Pro-Nuncio in Indonesia , and Albert Hermelink Gentiaras SCI, Bishop of Tanjungkarang.

Pope John Paul II appointed him Bishop of Tanjungkarang on April 18, 1979. On July 6, 2012, Pope Benedict XVI. his resignation request submitted for reasons of age.
