Vincenzo Maria Farano (born July 21, 1921 in Trani , Apulia , Italy , † January 17, 2008 in Gianola ) was the Roman Catholic Archbishop of Gaeta .

Life

Vincenzo Maria Farano was ordained a priest on June 3, 1944 . In 1973 he was appointed by Pope Paul VI. Appointed Titular Bishop of Cluentum and Apostolic Pro-Nuncio in Indonesia . He was ordained bishop on September 30, 1973, by the President of the Pontifical Council “Cor Unum” , Cardinal Jean-Marie Villot ; Co-consecrators were the Archbishop in the Vatican State Secretariat and later Cardinal Giovanni Benelli and the Prefect of the Congregation for the Evangelization of Peoples and later Cardinal, Duraisamy Simon Lourdusamy . In 1979 he was appointed Apostolic Nuncio in Ecuador .

In 1986 Pope John Paul II appointed him bishop of the Archdiocese of Gaeta . In 1997 Pope John Paul II accepted Vincenzo Maria Farano's petition to resign due to age.
