Herbert Hoos (born July 18, 1965 in Waldaschaff ) is a former German soccer player .

Hoos played for Viktoria Waldaschaff and Viktoria Aschaffenburg as a teenager . In 1982 he moved to the U19 of 1. FC Kaiserslautern . From 1983 to 1990, the defensive midfielder was in 133 Bundesliga games for the Lauterer on the field and scored seven goals. His greatest success was winning the DFB Cup with FCK in 1990.

Until February 4, 2006, when Daniel Halfar took over from him , he was FCK's youngest Bundesliga scorer. He scored the record goal on October 1, 1983, when he was 18 years and 75 days old. His first Bundesliga goal was the equalizer to make it 2-2 in a 3-3 home game against Werder Bremen . His first appearance in the league was just four weeks after his 18th birthday. On the first day of the 1983/84 season , coach Dietrich Weise changed him in the 73rd minute of the encounter at Hamburger SV for Axel Brummer .

He was a permanent member of the Palatinate team for seven seasons. His last appearance in the Bundesliga was on the last day of the 1989/90 season against 1. FC Nürnberg . Like his first, his last Bundesliga game ended in defeat.

On April 17, 1984 Hoos was used for the only time in the U-21 national team . In the 0-0 win against Greece in Aschaffenburg, he was substituted on for Michael Scheike from Brunswick .

From 1990 to 1994 he was active at Rot-Weiss Frankfurt and from 1994 to 2001 he led FC Erlenbach as player- coach to three championships and from the B-class to the regional league and the regional league .
