Andreas Kilb

Andreas Kilb (born August 9, 1961 in Frankfurt am Main ) is a German film critic .

Life

After studying German , Romance languages , journalism and philosophy in Mainz and Frankfurt am Main , Kilb wrote film and television reviews for the Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung from 1982 onwards . In 1987 he moved to Hamburg as a film editor for the weekly newspaper Die Zeit , for whose features section he reported from Los Angeles for a year in 1998/99 . Since April 2000 Kilb has been working again for the FAZ as their cultural correspondent in Berlin . Under the title “What remained of the pictures” he published a selection of his film reviews and essays in Verlag für Berlin-Brandenburg .

In 2016, Kilb took part in the BBC's vote for the 100 most important films of the 21st century and voted In the Mood for Love (2000) by Wong Kar-Wai as first place.

Kilb also reviews fiction.

Andreas Kilb is married and has two children.
