Andreas Pfeilschmidt

Andreas Pfeilschmidt , also Andres Pfeylschmydt , (* unknown; † August 9, 1556 in Dresden ) was a Dresden councilor and mayor .

Life

Pfeilschmidt came from a Dresden councilor family mentioned in the 15th century. An ancestor of the same name, probably his father, belonged to the Altendresdner council from 1473 . In 1517 Andreas Pfeilschmidt was listed in the register of Leipzig University .

In 1535 he became a member of the council and took over the office of pan master, who was responsible for the administration of the city's brewing pans and the collection of the fees charged for their use. In 1539, Pfeilschmidt was a builder on the council and in 1544 he was interest owner. He was first elected as governing mayor in 1552 and held this office again three years later. From 1552 until his death in 1556 he was also the hospital master of the Dresden Maternity Hospital .
