Andreas Siegert

Andreas Siegert (born September 2, 1959 in Berlin ) is a German economist and former SPD politician . In the 3rd electoral period (1998–2002) he was a member of the state parliament of Saxony-Anhalt .

Life

After graduating from secondary school in 1976, Andreas Siegert from Berlin began a two-year training course as a social security clerk and worked from 1978 to 1981 at the BfA Berlin. After successfully completing his advanced technical college entrance qualification in an extra-occupational evening course, he studied business administration at the Berlin School of Economics . He then worked as a controller in diaconal institutions before setting up as a business consultant in 1991. In addition to his self-employment, he studied international management (MBA) in Berlin and Cambridge from 1993 to 1995. For the RKW Sachsen-Anhalt he supervised a European project with which small and medium-sized companies were prepared for the changeover to the euro.

In the state elections in Saxony-Anhalt in 1998 , Siegert represented constituency 45 ( Querfurt ), in which he won the first and so far only direct mandate for the SPD with 35.8%. In the state parliament he worked in the education committee (as spokesman for vocational training and further education), the petitions committee, the council of elders and the study commission "Sustainable Saxony-Anhalt". In the final report of the study commission, he put his opinion that differed from the parliamentary group on record. In particular, Andreas Siegert advocated investments in education in order to strengthen Saxony-Anhalt's future viability. He has not been a member of the SPD since 2008.

From 2002 to 2007 Andreas Siegert worked as a consultant in the Russian Federation ( Yaroslavl Oblast Administration , IHK Moscow). At the same time he conducted research on the migration behavior of Russian academics. He received his doctorate in 2008 from the Gottfried Wilhelm Leibniz University of Hanover .

Andreas Siegert took on a teaching position at the University of Potsdam and a substitute professorship at the Merseburg University of Applied Sciences. He also lectured at Bauman University Moscow and Politechnicum Milan.

His main research interests are in the areas of rural development, integration and migration . As part of the “anKommen - willKommen” project with the Halle Social Research Center , aspects of the social integration of refugees, infrastructural obstacles to admission to peripheral regions or the recruitment of international and national specialists in the Leipzig region were examined. In another project, he examined personnel policy measures for the operational integration of refugees. Together with the Football Association of Saxony-Anhalt, Andreas Siegert developed a position paper in which the difficult situation of football clubs in rural areas as a result of demographic change is pointed out.

In 2019, Andreas Siegert was elected as a non-party candidate on the Bündnis90 / Die Grünen list in the municipal council of the Weida-Land association and appointed as an expert resident in committees of the district council.
