Andreas Spickhoff

Andreas Spickhoff (born April 19, 1962 in Wuppertal ) is a German legal scholar and full professor of civil law and medical law at the Ludwig Maximilians University in Munich .

Life

Spickhoff began studying law in 1981 at the Law Faculty of Bielefeld University and worked there as a student assistant at the chair of Hans-Jürgen Papier . In 1985 he moved to the Georg-August University in Göttingen and continued his work, initially as a student and later as a research assistant in the department for international and foreign private law at Erwin Deutsch . He passed his first state examination in 1986 in Göttingen. This was followed by a doctorate on "Public policy in international private law" in 1988. In 1990 he passed the second state examination at the OLG Celle . From 1991 to 1996 he worked as a research assistant at the Law Faculty in Göttingen and also participated in the reopening of the Law Faculty of the Martin Luther University Halle-Wittenberg .

After his habilitation in 1996 in Göttingen, he held a chair for civil law, civil procedural law, international private law and comparative law at the Friedrich Schiller University in Jena from 1996 to 2000 . In 2000 he received the chair for civil law, international private law and civil procedure law at the University of Regensburg . After Spickhoff had turned down a call to the Eberhard-Karls-Universität Tübingen in 2004, he was appointed to the Georg-August-Universität Göttingen in the winter semester 2009/2010, where he took over the chair for civil law, medical law, international private law and comparative law. From September 2010 to September 2012 Spickhoff was Managing Director of the Center for Medical Law in Göttingen and Dean of the Faculty of Law. From November 2012 he worked as managing director of the newly founded Institute for Notary Law. In addition, from April 2013 Spickhoff was Vice-President of the Lower Saxony State Judicial Examination Office . and from March 2014 member of the ethics committee of the University Medical Center Göttingen. Since March 2015 Spickhoff has held the chair for civil law and medical law at the Ludwig Maximilians University in Munich. Since 2012 he has been a full member of the Academy of Sciences in Göttingen .

Spickhoff is a member of several scientific associations, such as the German Council for International Private Law, the German Society for International Law (formerly: German Society for International Law), the Society for Comparative Law, the Association for International Procedural Law , the Civil Law Teachers Association , the Civil Procedure Law Teachers Association, the Association of Medical law teachers, the working group for doctors and lawyers in the working group of scientific medical societies and the working group for doctors and lawyers of the German Society for Gynecology and Obstetrics.

Andreas Spickhoff is married and has four children.
