Erwin Deutsch (lawyer)

Erwin Deutsch (born April 6, 1929 in Greifswald ; † March 11, 2016 ) was a German civil and medical lawyer .

Life

German studies at the Ruprecht-Karls-University of Heidelberg Law . He became an active member of the Catholic student associations Ripuaria-Heidelberg and K.St.V. Winfridia Göttingen in KV . He earned a Master of Comparative Law degree from Columbia University , New York . 1960 completed his habilitation in German in Munich. In 1961 he followed a call to the Christian-Albrechts-Universität zu Kiel and in 1963 to the Georg-August-Universität Göttingen . He taught there until his retirement.

Deutsch received honorary doctorates from the Medical Faculty of the University of Cologne and the Hanover Medical School , as well as honorary doctorates from the law faculties of the Martin Luther University Halle-Wittenberg , the University of Busan in South Korea and the University of Izmir , Turkey. Two festschrifts were dedicated to him.

German is buried in the St. Petri cemetery in Göttingen-Weende .

His textbook on medical law ( medical law , medical liability law , pharmaceutical law , medical device law , transfusion law ) is considered a standard work.
