(38238) Holíč is an asteroid of the main belt that was discovered on July 18, 1999 by the Slovak astronomers Štefan Gajdoš and Dušan Kalmančok at the observatory of the Comenius University in Modra ( IAU code 118). The first sightings of the asteroid had already been made in August 1995 under the provisional name 1995 QC 11 at the La Silla Observatory of the European Southern Observatory in Chile .

The asteroid was named on February 9, 2009 after the Slovak city ​​of Holíč , which was first mentioned in writing in 1205.
