Andreas Waschburger (born January 6, 1987 in Saarbrücken ) is a German marathon swimmer .

Andreas Waschburger lives in Saarbrücken, is a police commissioner and belongs to the sports promotion group of the Saarland police . The swimmer of SSG Saar Max Ritter is trained by Hannes Vitense.

Waschburger began swimming in open water in 2004. In 2009 he was third in the overall European Cup ranking, in 2010 and 2013 he won this series over 5 and 10 kilometers. In 2011 he won a World Cup race in Cancún and was third in the overall World Cup standings. At the European Championships in Budapest in 2010 he was 17th, at the World Championships tenth the following year. He qualified for the 2012 Summer Olympics in London , where he finished eighth. In 2013 he started at the Universiade in Kazan over 10 km and finished third behind Matteo Furlan (Italy) and Romain Berand (France).

In 2012, Waschburger won the national runner-up over 5 kilometers and was third over 10 kilometers. At the International German Championships in 2007 he took third place over 25 kilometers and in 2008 over 10 kilometers and in 2010 over 10 kilometers second.

At the European Open Water Swimmer Championships 2012 in Piombino, Italy, Waschburger took second place over 5 and 10 km and became vice European champion.

In 2017 he was the first German to win Vansbrosimningen in Sweden.
