Andreas Wieland (born August 16, 1983 ) is a former Austrian football player and now coach .
Career
As a player
Wieland started his career at ASK Erlaa . In 1992 he moved to SK Rapid Vienna . In 1996 he returned to Erlaa. In 1997 he joined the VSE St. Pölten . For the club, which now appears as FCN St. Pölten , he made his debut in the 2nd division in October 1999 when he was substituted on for Andrzej Jaschinski on the 19th matchday of the 1999/2000 season against SC Untersiebenbrunn in the 59th minute . After St. Pölten's license withdrawal, he moved to SC Herzogenburg during the winter break of that season .
After six months at Herzogenburg, he came to the BNZ St. Pölten in 2000 . In January 2002 Wieland moved to the Bundesliga club SV Ried , for whom he was not used. For the 2002/03 season he returned to Rapid Vienna, where he joined the fourth-rate amateur team. After a season at Rapid, he moved to the regional division SKN St. Pölten in the summer of 2003 . For St. Pölten he played 28 regional league games in the 2003/04 season, in which he scored four goals.
For the 2004/05 season he joined the second division club SC Untersiebenbrunn. He scored his first second division goal in August 2004 in a 3-1 defeat against FC Gratkorn . In January 2005 Wieland moved to the regional division SV Würmla .
After 22 regional league games for Würmla, he joined the fourth-class ASV Schrems in January 2006 . After half a year at Schrems, Wieland moved again to the regional league, where he joined SC Eisenstadt . He played 14 regional league games for Burgenland before moving to fifth-rate FC Purkersdorf in January 2007 . Until the end of his career in 2011 he still played for SC Himberg , SV Rohrbach , Kremser SC and SVg Purgstall .
As a trainer
From 2010 Wieland worked at AKA St. Pölten , where he trained for various ages or acted as an assistant trainer until 2015. From the 2015/16 season he was the sports director of the academy and assistant coach of Andreas Heraf in the Austrian U-17 and from 2016 in the U-18 selection .
For the 2018/19 season, Wieland took over the post of academy director from Ronald Brunmayr at AKA Linz . During the winter break of that season, he also took over the post of head coach from Brunmayr, who moved to the Linz Academy, at the second division club FC Juniors OÖ , but also kept his position at the academy.
For the 2019/20 season, he became Valérien Ismaël's assistant coach at LASK . After separating from Ismaël after the 2019/20 season, he left the LASK professionals at his own request.
